Poppy Day success
Sir, — On behalf of the Christchurch R.S.A. executive, I wish to thank people who gave their time to sell poppies on Poppy Day and to the public who gave such generous support; to factory managements and staff, chartered club patrons and schoolteachers and pupils who organised on our behalf the sale of poppies in their respective areas; to the news media, newspapers and radio for the excellent coverage before Poppy Day. It would appear at this stage that we will pass our previous record of $12,000. Returns have yet to come in from R.S.A. sub-branches and schools, and the final figure could prove most interesting. — Yours, etc., JOE GREEN. Secretary-Manager, Christchurch R.S.A.
