Boys start house fire
Two boys, aged eight and 14, were apprehended by the police after a fire was started in a bedroom of an unoccupied house at 51 King Street, Sydenham, early yesterday. Newspapers were used to start the fire, which caused only minor damage
before it was put out by the Fire Service. The boys had admitted starting the fire, said Detective Senior-Sergeant M. J. Muddiman, of the Christchurch C. 1.8. He said the boys would be dealt with by the police youth-aid section.
