$4.5M deal for Chch firm
A rental-car fleet order in excess of 54.5 M has been finalised by Todd Motors, Ltd, and its Christchurch dealer, Cooper Henderson Motors. The contract, believed to be the largest of its kind in New Zealand, involves 525 Chrysler Avenger sedans and 40 Mitsubishi Mirages supplied to Avis Rental Cars. The cars will be built by Todd Motors between now and the end of November this year and
supplied to Avis by Cooper Henderson Motors. AU the Avengers are Series 9, 1300 cu cm manual versions which are classified as “economy” class in the rental car industry. The contract results from a move by Avis to rationalise its range of cars available to hirers. It considered the Avenger ideally suited in areas of passenger and luggage room, comfort, economy, reliability and driver acceptance.
