Main events today in the national students arts festival in Christchurch include: 9 a.m.: Drama workshop with Chameleon Theatre group. Rehearsal room, NMT. Noon: Electronic music concert. UCR. 1 p.m.: Song recital by Jillian Bartram and Janet Elepans, with lola Shelley (piano) and Jennifer Queree (guitar). State Trinity Centre. 2 p.m.: “Conspiracy”—three films in the genre, including “All the President’s Men.” Al. 3 p.m.: Rock concert featuring Negative Theatre and EST. ICR. 3.30 p.m.: Dance performance. TCT. 6 p.m.: Morris Dancers workshop. Ballroom, Students’ Union Building, Ham. 7.30 p.m. Student films and videotapes. Museum Theatre. 8 p.m. Award-winning drama, “The Prince, the
Wolf, and the Firebird.” by Richard Lacy. Director. Don McAra, Drama workshop No. 1, Teachers’ College. 8 p.m.: Jazz concert. Featuring Bob Bradford’s Big Band, Doug Caldwell’s Trio, Malcolm McNeill and the Bobcats. Town Hall.
10 p.m.: Chameleon Theatre group in performance. SCR. 11 p.m.: Two gangster films, “The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond” and "The St Valentine’s Day Massacre.” Al. 11.30 p.m.: Pooh readings from the writings of A. A. Milne. Riverbank, Ham.
Children’s festival 10 a m. and 2.30 p.m.: National Youth Council workshop for young parents: “Development through play.” Ilam School. Noon: Otago Children’s Theatre entertains. Cathedral Square.
Noon: Spectacle entertains. Hornby Mall. 12.30 p.m.: Chameleon Clowns entertain. Riccarton Mall. 2 p.m.: Playbox theatre. Repeat of Riccarton Players’ holiday production. Ilam School hall. 3 p.m.: Singing, storytelling workshop and performance by Spectacle. Upper common room, Arts Centre.
