Crane-work talks start
PA Wellington Behind-scenes talks aimed to get work started again on building Wellington’s third port container crane are taking place. These result from an agreement reached last week between the Australian Steel Engineering Company Multicon, the Federation of Labour and the Wellington Boilermakers’ Society. The president of the F.O.L. (Mr W. J. Knox) said yesterday that he intended to discuss the agreement with the crane’s construction contractor, Downer and Company, as soon as possible.
