TV addiction

Sir, —Your correspondent A. J. Edwards (May 5) expresses my views admirably. Average New Zealanders are conditioned by the system and need to be motivated to help themselves. What better medium than television? Where do we, the rebels, begin to start when there are New Zealanders wasting their precious lives on sex, alcohol, drugs, etc. We must have all these but why not in moderation? I do not wish to be “all things to all men” so in this instance, would rather be an Indian than a chief.—Yours, etc., MARGARET MANNING. May 5, 1979.
