Retirement in N.Z.R.
The Deputy General Manager of New Zealand Railways (Mr I. Trask) will retire this week after 40 years service. Mr Trask joined the Railways Department as a cadet at Rangataua in 1939, and worked in several North Island towns before he was transferred to the general manager’s office in Wellington in 1960. He will be replaced as deputy general manager by Mr I. McGregor, who will be responsible for railways engineering and development.
