M.P.s’ travel
Sir, — The impertinent demand by a TV2 news interviewer of the Prime Minister that he justify the chartering of a flight out of Paraparaumu on Friday to get M.P.s back to their electorates for the week-end, received a deserved response from the Prime Minister. It is much harder to find justification for the TV channel’s action in using its resources, including scarce motor fuel, to bring such impertinence to our screens. The implied suggestion by the questioner that the country’s elected representatives deserve no consideration over the average travelling public, is in poor taste. The self appointed inquisitors of TV2 will get what they deserve if the axe falls their way as a result of the need to have the TV media operate profitably. — Yours etc., D. A. CARTER, Hawarden. March 23, 1979.
