Airlines dispute over
NZPA Melbourne The airlines? dispute that has been crippling Australia’s: domestic flights, and delaying Tasman flights, has been! solved. The president of the Australian Arbitration Commission (Sir John Moore) announced last evening that the full bench of the commission had granted the airlines a Variance of the award. Sir John said that workers in two classifications would be awarded an extra! sAust2.Bo a week, backdated.
The two groups are those workers who lost pay rises as a result of a successful appeal by the airlines against the award last Friday. The airlines are expected to achieve norma! services quickly.
