New M.E.D. contract
M. L. Paynter, Ltd, has been awarded a Christchurch City Council contract to build a new Municipal Electricity Department amenity building in Packe Street, St Albans. The company had submitted a tender for $426,296. which was the lowest of
10. The highest was $478,451. Some items for the building have been built by other contractors. The landscaped building should be completed in about a year. An earlier council staff estimate for the basic construction work was $413,000.
