Visa cards

Sir, — In reply to D. CurTie’s letter (December 4), I fail to see that because a system similar to Visa cards has been in use in the United States for some time, it is right that New Zealand adopt the same practice. Perhaps the American people were opposed to it also, but were not heard, or heard too late. It has already been accepted that somebody has to pay for this “service,” — probably the Visa card holder and purchasing public. All progress is not necessarily for the better, and we must continue to question. — Yours, etc., JULIE BURGESS. December 4, 1978.
