Disarmament

f Sir, — We read the report of the seminar for sixth and seventh formers entitled, “Swords into plough-shares: the prospects for New Zealand and world disarmament” ("The Press,” November 29) with concern that your readers may not be aware that the session addressed by Major Beddie was a very small pan of a seminar of two days and a half. We would be interested to read reports of the other sessions, in order to obtain a more balanced view of the whole discussion. The question of disarmament is of vital importance to us all. The articles on your leader page of December 2 entitled “Experts predict five years to doomsday” and “Fighters play deadly games over England” are a horrifying picture of what will happen if the bizarre arms race continues. — Yours, etc., OLWEN PALMER. E On behalf of the N.Z. Quaker Peace Committee. December 3, IDTh.
