Tenders on stand-by
Crash tenders stood by at Christchurch Airport yesterday when an aircraft returning from the Antarcticreported engine trouble. The pilot of an R.N.Z.A.F. Hercules transport aircraft; on a routine flight from: McMurdo Sound radioed that i two engines were not work-1 ing normally. He was able to regulate! the fault using mechanical! governing, according to a I traffic control spokesman.! and the aircraft landed with-; !out incident at 11.30 a.m.
