Young sailor drowns
iPA Wellington! i A teen-age boy drowned! in a yachting accident ini Wellington Harbour on Wednesday but his brother had a lucky escape. The dead youth was Kevin Ray, aged 18. of Eastbourne. Barry Ray, aged 15, was in fairly satisfactory condition in Wellington Hospital last evening suffering from exposure and shock.
The two boys fell out of their yacht while sailing qff’ I Eastbourne, about 125 pun. 1 A Wellington cruise launch sped to the scene and ■ a crewman dived in to try to 1 save the boys. One was taken on board the Te Aroha ' almost immediately, but it was some time before the 1 other was retrieved. 1 Both boys had worn life- . jackets, although one jacket came off in the choppy seas.
