Purdo wins in U.K.
NZPA London | The New Zealand steeplechaser, Purdo, may be entered in one of Britain’s leading ’chase events after storming to an easy win at Huntingdon on Tuesday. T h e Lomond-Foveaux Strait gelding, which changed stables late last month, raced home in the SNZ2IOO F. A. Standen Chase, of 4000 m, having led from the start. The seven-year-old jumpler’s new trainer, Nick Gaselee, said later that he would give serious consid eration to entering Purdo in the Massey-Ferguson Gold Cup at Cheltenham in mid December.
