CHAR MAID (Race 10), b m. syrs, by Charities —Midmeadow Maid; trained at Invercargill by M. Skerretl, Narrowly beaten by Dark Isa last time out over 1200 m at the Southland meeting after paceftiaking. Should be hard to catch over same distance tomorrow.

Franklin

ORCHIDRA (Race S). cli m, syr«, by Oncidium—Alexandra; trained at Woodville by N. Eales. Dead heated with Prince Lee a* Trentham at her last start. With Le Mer and Springtide scratched has a grand chance here.

New Brighton

ROYAL LOPEZ (Race 7), b g, 2yrs, by Lopez Hanover— Regality; trained at Prebble* ton by D. P. Grice. Won the Spring Time Stakes on November 18 with the greatest of ease. This field looks little if any stronger find he should go close to winning again.

Wanganui

TEDDY DOON (Race 3), gr c, 3yrs, by Rapier H Smokey City; trained at Te Rapa by G. Rogerson. Had a fine victory In Hie N.Z. Two Thousand Guineas at Riccarton early last month and followed that up with a third behind Golden Key and Holy Toledo in the Canterbury Gold Cup. Will be very hard to beat here if still in that form.
