New shop rushed
NZPA-Reuter Dublin The first shop in Ireland to sell contraceptives opened in ;Dublin on Tuesday and ran out of stocks within an hour. The sale of contraceptives in the predominantly Roman Catholic republic is forbidden by law although familyplanning clinics are allowed to give them away. The shop is to raise cash for an organisation trying to reform Irish birth-control laws. The Irish Government intends to introduce a bill before Christmas to legalise the sale of contraceptives, but only to married couples.
