Far from Richard Hadlee being a heavy expense to the Canterbury Cricket Association he had been good value considering that tie was employed as much as a player as as a coach, said the chairman of the association’s management committee (Mr L. J. Knowles) after a meeting of the committee on Tuesday. At the meeting, Mr A. G. : Duckmanton said that Hadlee had proved to be a “pretty dear | exercise” but Mr Knowles said the cost to the association was relatively slight. Hadlee’s emI ployer.
