Reform of union
PA Rotorua A six-point plan for con-1 stitutional reform of the; Timber Workers’ Union, pro-1 posed by Sir Thomas Skin-! ner, was approved unani-i mously at the annual conference in Rotorua yesterday. Internal union problems had led to an uneasy relationship, especially betweenl the union’s national office! and the South Auckland! branch. The union’s national president (Mr R. D. Richardson) said that the changes would allow the conference to give approval to set up sub-; branches where required in; areas where the branch sec-; retary was unable to give services.
