Mr Rowling has eagle
I PA Wellington The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Rowling) was given a warm welcome by Labour members of Parliament and Opposition staff when he arrived at Parliament House yesterday for the first time since the Election.
Mr Rowling flew to Wellington after two days of what he described as “unashamedly relaxing” at his home in Richmond. “I was so relaxed that I managed to get an eagle on the first hole on Greenacres,” he said. Mr Rowling shot a two-under-par two at the Greenacres Golf Club at Richmond, where he is a member.
Labour members and staff were waiting for Mr Rowling on the front steps of the Parliament House library wing, where he has his office, when he arrived. Applause, handshakes and shouts of “Good on you Bill” greeted Mr Rowling, who was beaming when he got out of his car.
