Leyland value increased
PA Auckland The market, value of the portfolio of Leyland Investments, Ltd, at September: 30, was $159,305 or 17.4 per, cent higher than a year earl-! ier. At $1,076,286 the portfolio represented 133 c for each Leyland share, compared with 119 c 12 months preiviously. This had since dropped to 128 c at the beginning of November. As announced, the profit rose $7841 or 12.4 per cent: Lto $67,608 after tax $328! higher at $lO5B. The 2.5 per cent higher; dividend of 15 per cent (7.5c| a share) required $lO,OOO more at $60,000. The earning rate on capi--tai, steady at $400,000, was! up from 15.0 per cent to! 16.9 per cent, and on average shareholders’ funds the earning rate rose from 7.3; per cent to 8.0 per cent. Shareholders’ funds were $20,572 higher at $852,363.
