Ferry row resolved
PA Auckland A North Shore Ferries, Ltd, director and former Minister of Marine, Mr W. J. Scott, has withdrawn his resignation from the National Party over the Bayswater ferry licence in Auckland.
He said his company had got what it wanted when the Auckland Regional Transport Licensing Appeal Authority recently called for a complete rehearing for the ferry licence.
“I saw no useful purpose in carrying the matter of the resignation any further,” Mr Scott said. Mr Scott had been a member of the National Party for 41 years. He resigned on September 25.
