McAlpine bonus
McAlpine Prestcold, Ltd, is to make a 1:5 bonus issue after a record profit in the year to July 31. The directors say in a brief preliminary report that audited tax-paid group profit rose about 20 per cent to ‘"918,000, after providing $84,000 less for tax at $531,000. A bonus share issue of o n e-f o r-five ordinary shares from tax free sources is recommended to shareholders, the issue to participate in the final dividend. The directors recommend the payment of a final dividend of 9 per cent or 4.5 c an ordinary share payable on December 19, ex dividend December 7.
