NZPA London The English cricket allrounder lan Botham, is reported to be in hospital being treated for a gashed wrist, only 48 hours before the England cricket team was to leave on the Ashes tour to Australia. A spokesman at Doncaster Royal Infirmary said: “We have been asked not to talk about the injury,” the “Daily Express” reported. Botham’s father, who lives in Yeovil, Somerset, said: “All I know is that the gash was caused by a door. I don’t know where or what the circumstances are.” The tour manager (Mr Doug Insole) said he expected Botham to fly out with the team today.
