The new president of the New Zealand Textile and Garment Manufacturers’ Federation is Mr John Penney, managing director of Argyle Fabrics, Ltd, Christchurch. Mr Penney has been in the textile and garment industry for 25 years, and is a past president of the Knitting Industries Federation. He recently led a Govern-ment-sponsored trade mission to the United States to research the market for New Zealand apparel and textiles and he has also travelled there to develop exports for his own company, which is a subsidary of Lane, Walker, Rudkin Limited. Mr Penney succeeds Mr H. R. Cowan, managing director of Wallensteins, Dunedin.
