Four gang members charged
Four members of the Mongrel Mob motor-cycle, gang appeared in the Magis-I trate’s Court on Saturday after a fight in Latimer; Square early on Saturday! morning. Jimmy Hayward, a labourer, aged 22, was charged with possessing an offensive weapon, a chain, in Worcester Street. Richard Lowe, Kingi, aged 22, was charged; with obstructing the police; Kenneth Daniel Rau, aged; 20, was charged with as-1 saulting a policeman; and; George Allen Phillip Barney,) aged 21, was charged with; resisting the police. All were remanded on bail* to October 26. They were arrested after a police" patrol stopped about! 15 motor-cycle gang mem-! bers in Latimer Square after a complaint by a motorist, A fight broke out but the gang ’ members dispersed when ; police reinforcements ar- ; rived.
