Threats to family life
Sir, — On a news broadcast this morning I heard that Cr Peter Blaxall is getting upset by the fact that young people are reading copies of “Penthouse” and is urging that shops which allow this should be blitzed. Cr Blaxall sayu he is taking this stand to uphold the life of the family. I find it hard to establish a connection between reading “Penthouse” and the break-up of the family. What is dangerous is the increasing, hysterical, outpouring
we hear daily by supposedly responsible people in positions of authority, from the Prime Minister down. What is really shown is Cr Blaxall’s, and others neurotic fears, rather than any threat to society. — Yours, etc., GRAEME BUCKLEY. October 17, 1978.
