Sewer work concern
A “fairly firm letter” should be sent to the Frankleigh Street-Sparks Road relief sewer contractor over progress on the job, said the Christchurch Drainage Board construction and treatment works committee chairman (Mr C. H. Russell) yesterday. Committee members said they realised that ground conditions were not the best, but work on the $458,234 contract of E. O’Sullivan, Ltd, was also reaching a stage where conditions would be even more difficult.
At the present construction rate, the job would not be completed by the end of March, 1979.
