O» Douglas (Lab. Manakau). Using Valuation Department statistics, Mr Holland said that the average price of a house in New Zealand in December,
1970, was $ll,OOO. The transfer scale fee, according to figures supplied by the Law Society, was $93.75 on that transaction. This month, an average house in New Zealand cost $29,400.
