‘Polio risk again’
New Zealanders who have not been vaccinated against poliomyelitis, are taking a big risk, according to the Deputy Director of Public Health (Dr Campbell Begg). A recent outbreak of polio in the Netherlands and cases in Canada among people who — for religious reasons — had not been immunised, highlighted this risk, he said. The virus which causes
