Linseed shipload
If a proposal to market linseed overseas materialised, more growers would be needed urgently to make up an economic shipload, according to Fletcher Agriculture, Ltd. The company does not require any linseed for internal use" in the coming season, but it»is prepared to market linseed overseas on growers’ behalf. The company’s marketing director (Mr E. V. Henry) said that 78 farmers in Canterbury and North Otago had indicated an interest in growing about 1450 tonnes for export, but this represented only 29 per cent of the target"of 5000 tonnes for an economic shipload. The project would lapse if the target was not reached by the end of this month.
