Fare rise sought
PA Wellington Air New Zealand announced yesterday that it was seeking increases averaging 12 per cent in domestic air fares. The Chief Executive of the airline (Mr M. R. Davis) said the application would be filed with the Air Services Licensing authority this week.. Increases were necessary to meet cost increases faced on the airline’s internal services, he said. Costs since the last fare increase on July 1, 1977, would add more than SUM a year to the company’s expenses.
