Sir, — The only tankers parked in and around Lyttelton would be the ones making deliveries, and normally tankers carrying class one dangerous goods are not left unattended. However, at times demountable tanks, may be found on trucks loaded with bulk products such as latex, molasses, tallow, etc., which are not classed as dangerous goods. The tankers that do pass through the town carrying class one dangerous goods are prohibited from using the road tunnel and have no choice but to go over Evans Pass. I can assure the residents of Lyttelton, and the public that these drivers are ail highly skilled and care* ful. What worries me is the introduction of the gas
