The Rev. D. C. Best has been appointed vicar of the parochial districts of Tinwald and Hinds, to succeed the Rev. L. F. Allison, who has been .appointed assistant priest St Peter’s. Riccarton. Mr Best is now vicar of Glenmark-Waikari. He was ordained in 1970 and served curacies in the parishes of St Albans and Timaru before taking up his present position in 1974. He will be inducted in October. The Rev. Te W. Melbourne, chaplain of Te Wai Pounamu College since 1976, has been appointed to the Maori Pastorate of Rangiatea in the Diocese of Wellington. He will take up the position later this month.
