PA Dunedin School committees were being advised by their national body not to introduce instruction on contraceptives to their schools as allowed by the Contraception, Sterilisation and Abortion Act, said the chairman of the School Committees’ Federation (Mr A. Shaw), Federation (Mr A. Shaw). A newsletter was being sent to school committees with this advice, he said. “All committees have had great difficulty in determining the action they should take.” said Mr Shaw. “Many see the necessity to provide instruction, but feel they are unable to provide that service because of the complexities of the Act.”
