Trainer to be charged
S. B. Laming, the Rangiora trainer of Midknight, is to appear before the Canter-; bury District Committee on 1 a charge related to the performance of that horse in the Christchurch Hunt’s Cumla Handicap at Riccarton on July 29. . Midknight ran eighth in ' the Camla Handicap, and for his handling of the horse the the jockey, S. J. Allen, was at first fined, a penalty since amended to two days suspension. Laming is to be charged unc°r Rule 21 (h) which j covers the aiding and abetting of someone who breaks I the rules of racing.
