When Parliament sat at 9 a.m. yesterday the reports of the Labour Department and Department of Internal Affairs were tabled.

Appropriation of public money was accorded the National Airways Corporation Dissolution Bill and the amendment to it to be moved during the committee stages by the Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr McLachlan), and : to the Council for Post-graduate Education Bill.

The Dunedin Water Works Extension Repeal Bill and the Auckland Regional Authority Amendment Bill were reported back from the Local Bills Select Committee with the recommendation that they be allowed to proceed.

The Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council Amendment Bill (No. 2) and the Customs Order Confirmation Bill were given second readings. The second reading debate on the Post Office Amendment Bill was interrupted when the House rose at 1 p.m.
