Bad time for Radio Windy

1 The unaudited net profit of Capital City Radio, Ltd, I at $12,539, was more than halved in the six months to 1 April 30. Additional exceptional expense has been claimed — arising from the case to the New Zealand Broadcasting tribunal—of $17,000, and at this date has been treated as a contingent liability, the directors say. The management changes and general publicity have been difficult for the company during this period, they say. The company is pleased to announce that Mr Rob McKay, a Wellingtonian with 11 years experience in Australia will begin as general manager from August 1. After the favourable decision of the new broadcasting tribunal, the company has issued 120,000 50c shares to Radio Hauraki at a premium of 25c a share. Mr C. R. Bidwill and Mr M. Friedlander have been appointed directors of the company.
