NZPA-Reuter Bagwi Phi lipping The champion, Anatol Karpov, and challenger, Vih tor Korchnoi, last nigh agreed to a draw in thel fourth game in the worl chess championship. In only 19 moves of a fairl uninteresting game, Karpot who theoretically had the at vantage with the white piece failed to pierce Korchnoi’ opening plan. They were in an unclei position when thev agreed t draw after repeating move
It was the fourth succe: sive draw in the battle I score six wins, draws nt counting. The fourth game rapid! developed into the Rd Lopez opening, with the fin 13 moves duplicating those I the second game. Once again Korchnoi pn duced a novelty on the fou teenth move — a differei one from game two. After quick-fire opening, the foil teenth move appeared I deprive Karpov of winnit chances with the whi pieces. After Karpov’s fourteen! move, R-Kl, Korchnoi movi B-R4.
