Bus map ‘shuffled’

The siting of a map of bus routes in Cathedral Square is a matter of concern to the Christchurch Transport Board.

The board’s main problem in discussions with the Christchurch City Council on bus services in the Square concerned the map, said the genera] manager of the board (Mr M. G. Taylor) yesterday. The chairman of the board <Mr M. O. Holdsworth) was reported as saying yesterday that he was concerned about the council’s “shuffling” of the board’s proposed plans for its services from Cathedral Square. Mr Holdsworth was referring to a map which the board submitted

to the council more than five months ago. Mr Taylor said the kiosk proposal had been part of an over-all plan for the Square but the “map issue” predominated in the feeling of dissatisfaction with the council felt by the board. “The matter now seems to have lapsed because of the council’s shuffling,” Mr Taylor said.
