Police seek witnesses
The Christchurch police are seeking witnesses to a fatal accident at the intersection of Pound Road and Buchanans Road, Hornby, on Sunday.
A Christchurch woman died in the accident, which occurred at 10.35 a.m. Her husband was seriously injured. The dead woman was Julia Baxter, aged 45, of Manurere Street, Hei Hei. Maurice Baxter, aged 47, was improving yesterday in
The Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was reported in a fairly comfortable condition. The accident inquiries section of the Christchurch police wishes to hear from anybody who might have seen the accident.
Peter Wallace Marriot, who was injured when his motor-cycle and a car collided in Sawyers Arms Road on Saturday is still in a serious condition in Christchurch Hospital.
