Canterbury in bowls final
Mrs Pat Fuller's team of Laurie Timlin. Mrs Janette Lennon and Norman Hocking put Canterburj into the national final of the Rothmans indoor bowls tournament when it won the zone elimination at Timaru on Saturday. The final will be plaved in Auckland on August 12. The Canterbur\ team had to fight for its success. It came from 0-6 to beat Alastair Hogg ‘South Canterbury). 1-3-8 in the first round and then, in the second round, it had a comfortable win over Garth McKenzie (North Otago). But even with two wins. Mrs Fuller stiD had to beat Jack Robertson (Ashburton), in the last round to advance further.
: Mrs Fuller took an early lead, but the Ashburton four fought L back and needing a four on the I last end to force a draw it was • only a shot short with a three.
