Fire guts old house
Fire badly damaged an unoccupied house at 59 Hopkins Street, Opawa, early yesterday morning. Neighbours raised the alarm at 2.38 a.m., but the house was well ablaze by the time two engines from the Central Fire Station arrived.. Firemen used breathing apparatus to enter the burning house' but were unable to save much of the old, wooden building.
