“The death of a daughter”
Sir, — Congratulations on Saturday’s article, “The Death of a Daughter.” So often our newspapers appear to be full of the screams of sectional interests and the manoeuvres of the ambitious and discontented. Thank you for reminding us that the real heroes of civilisation are ordinary people who deal with the ups and downs of life in a spirit of calmness, fortitude and mutual encouragement. — Yours, R. H. FRENCH. July 2, 1978.
