Canterbury to stay in N.Z.U.S.A.
University of Canterbury ! students voted by 370 votes | to 260, to remain in the New ! Zealand University Students’ I Association. | Last year Canterbury stu(dents agreed to give notice ;of withdrawal from the | national association, and in | a referendum recently the majority of students indiI cated their wish for CanterI bury to withdraw. Mr Michael Lee, president of the Canterbury association, said changes had been made to the administrative make-up and voting structure of N.Z.U.S.A., and yesterday’s meeting had shown I that it was prepared to take I time to consider these ! changes. The national president of .the N.Z.U.S.A. (Miss Lisa 'Sacksen) said in Christchurch on Tuesday that she hoped Canterbury would not ; withdraw, as it would leave the association weakened.
