Sixth chess round
The leading team* In the Ballins business house chess competition had clean sweeps in the sixth round. Smith's City Market continued its improvement with a good win, 3-1, against Woolbrokers.
In group B. Andrew* and Beaven moved closer to a place in the final by beating Balling, 3-1, and drawing, 2-2, with International Harvester in • match postponed from round two. “The Press" had its first win, taking all games against International Harvester. Results:— Section A: Paparua 4, Computer Bureau 0; Statistics 4, Tramways Union 11 U; Smiths City Market 3, Woolbrokers 1; Christchurch “Star” 2, Air New Zealand 2. Section B: Post Office 4, Patience and Nicholson V; Andrews and deaven 3, Bailin* 1; Tramways Union 1 3, Feltex 1; "The Press” 4, International Harvester 0.
