Western Samoa. The appointment is for a two-year period, commencing as soon as possible. The appointee wil) be based at Asau. Duties of the Training Ranger will include the preparation and implementation of a tiaining svllabus to operate on a day-to-day release basis with lectures and practical field work. Experience in chainsaw maintenance and in the repair of mechanical equipment will be essential for certain aspects of the programme. Some assistance with training staff in report writing and in the interpretation of English manuals may also be required. Training will generally be concentrated at Asau. but provisions will be made for tne training of forestry staff on Upolu as well. Remuneration will be on the basis of salary, negotiable with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and location and child allowances (where applicable). Air fares and the transfer costs will be paid and housing will be provided.
