S.P.U.C. complaint upheld
PA Wellington Complaints by the Society for The Protection of the Unborn Child of unfair treatment, against a TVI current affairs programme, have been upheld by the Broadcasting Corporation. I S.P.U.C. complained about |a “Prime Time” programme lon March 30. which examined I provisions of the Contracep- | tion, Sterilisation, and Aborjtion Act. The programme dealt with a published list of certifying consultants and their sympathies with, or membership of, S.P.U.C. | S.P.U.C. alleged unfair | treatment of the role of I S.P.U.C., or doctors with | S.P.U.C. associations. ■ In a statement read on last i evening’s edition of “Prime I Time,” the corporation said lit upheld “in substantial degree” three complaints by S.P.U.C.: “The corporation’s decision followed investigation by the head of programme standards and consideration by the standing committee of TVI,” the statement said.
