Ploughman for final

A further qualifying event for the New Zealand ploughing championships was decided yesterday at a match held by the Geraldine Young Farmers’ Club on the property of Mr A. W. Crotty, at Pleasant Valley.

It was won on a countback by Bruce Smith, of Broadfield, from J. C. Kyle (Seadown), who scored the same number of points. A. D. Begg (Ashburton) was third. There were seven competitors. The match was held under fine conditions overhead, although the ground was wet. Earlier report, Page 27
