A Royal good-bye
PA Auckland Princess Beatrix told a farewell dinner in Auckland that she hoped she was not saying good-bye for ever.
Replying to farewell speeches by the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon), and Mr A. J. Faulkner, representing the Leader of the Opposition, Princess Beatrix said New Zealand had made a deep impression on both her and Prince Claus.
“Yciu are a very special and endearing people,” she said. “We have felt very much at home. The couple left Auckland on the first leg of their homeward flight yesterday morning.
